As many of these Wedge / CAD / ZR systems that I have followed over all the years, I can say that I have not seen many where the rain had set in and the cold air got pushed in "underneath" enough to cause ice on trees and powerlines.  Just as a history, usually when that happens at least in my area of Dacula, it gets to 33° and rain.  I know that every system is different, but unless temperatures really crash, I find it hard to believe we drop below freezing by 2-5AM.

Just sorta giving y'all what's in my head running around.

Update from the Atlanta NWS office

Quote

Area Forecast Discussion
National Weather Service Peachtree City GA
917 PM EST Sat Dec 8 2018

.UPDATE...

While for now we have mid to upper 30s in NE GA, hi-res guidance
still has subfreezing sfc wetbulbs making way into the area after
about 09z tonight and lingering through the morning and have not
seen any need to adjust the current Warning and Advisory and have
continued current products as advertised. Could still have some
significant ice accumulations near Gainesville and more of a snow
concern up in the NE higher elevations that could linger even into
Monday with wrap-around moisture and some additional upper
waves/moisture.

Uhh, so that's bad right?

Good would be snow, bad is ice in my book...

Yea, in that case, not good. ⛷️

Went outside for the first time and a lot of what I thought was rain earlier was sleet. We may have nearly an inch of sleet on top of the partially melted snow from earlier today. Still mixing Snow and sleet now, hoping as the heaviest returns move in in the coming hours it will flip all snow for a few hours at least.
