Good Wednesday morning!

Does it feel a little cooler out there this morning?

Here's a look at temps and dewpoints. A little cooler and drier air has filtered in from the NW this morning. Don't get used to it though.

The dry frontal boundary that moved through the area yesterday has
stalled in south-central GA this morning with a weak baroclinic
boundary setting up the formation of a weak low pressure wave that
should form and remain around southeast GA. With the forecast area
situated on the backside of this wave dew points are forecast to
drop into the 50s which should keep mostly clear skies around with
only light cumulus forming
. By this evening, moist return flow
should be in place further west into the MS/AL region ahead of a
second cold front that will be moving into the OH/TN River valleys.

Tomorrow, dew points are expected to climb back into the upper 60's
and 70's from the aforementioned return flow from the west. With the
frontal system beginning to filter into the forecast area we finally
have enough moisture and lift for some isolated convective storms to
form in the forecast area. While we're not expecting a bunch of rain
to fall it's the best chance we've had in a long time
as drought
conditions have worsened over the last couple of months.

Not this weekend, but next (Oct 5), you will feel fall. Both the GFS and Euro ensembles are locked in step right now, showing a 15 (GFS) - 20 (Euro) degree drop in temperatures that weekend. I know it can't come soon enough, but it's coming. This chart is the GFS for Lawrenceville. On Oct 9th, the Euro ensembles are showing a high of 70 in Lawrenceville, 63 in Blairsville, and 69 in Dalton. 🙂 Does that put a big smile on your face? 🙂 Let's hope that comes with rain, but at this point, I'll take what I can get.

The atmosphere is stirring... and it looks like fall may arrive in one big swoop. I can't wait. 🙂

Hope everyone has a great day!
