Good morning!

I';m getting off to a slow start this morning and still thinking about the houses we saw yesterday in Big Canoe. 🙂 That sure is a beautiful place up there. We are pretty convinced that Big Canoe is where we want to go... now to find the right house. 🙂

But you're not here to listen to me blather about me... you want to know when the cooler weather is going to arrive, right?

Both the Euro and GFs ensembles still show the cool air arriving around the 5th, and this is what they show for Blairsville. Everyone else outside of the mountains will be a little bit warmer.

Here's how things look around the country as we start to approach the noon hour. Notice the snow and temps out west as well as across the north central US.

In the meantime...

..RECORD TEMPERATURES AND LITTLE PRECIPITATION EXPECTED THIS
WEEK...

SHORT TERM /Today through Monday/...
This morning starts out with patchy fog potential, especially in
areas with remnant low level moisture from the evening storms.
Otherwise, looking to have a more ridge dominated and drier thermal
profile today so expecting most of the CWA to be convectively
suppressed. Only going slight pops for isolated showers/storms in
the far NE mtns this afternoon. Monday has the H5 ridge shifted
slightly farther west, which exposes the far eastern CWA to some
more enhanced moisture with a piece of energy traversing southward
along the upper ridge periphery. Have increased some pops
accordingly but still keep confined to eastern CWA, which could end
up getting expanded farther westward with future updates.

Went a degree or two above guidance blend for max temps given recent
trends, which again has many locations in the mid to upper 90s both
today and Monday. This should have some locations continuing to
flirt with or break records.

Ugh... I hate the heat too.

Hang in there... I know it seems like summer is dragging on forever, but it won't be here too much longer.

Have a nice hot Sunday! 🙂

That's some view ... wow!  Good luck with the house selling/buying process.

Big Canoe is surrounded by some beautiful (and rough) country.  Been past it a number of times to go trail running, hiking, trout fishing, and waterfall hunting.  There are some real gems quietly tucked away up there if you're willing to wander off the beaten tracks a bit.

One thing that is nice about Big Canoe is that there are 20+ miles of trails there within the 8000 acres. Here's a trail map

That's phenomenal!  And Jeep trails, no less.  I am so totally impressed.

I typically drive past the main gate on my way to parts unknown, although there's access from the west as well.  Wow.

It's amazing up there. It's like driving through a park.
