Good morning!

Are you still stuffed? I feel like a stuffed turkey.

Here's the big view this morning. You can see a very large and deep trough over the western US while a ridge is in control of our weather over the eastern US.

Not much to talk about today, we will have some rain late Saturday and into Sunday in advance of a cold front, and that front will bring cooler temperatures as well as a chance for a few snowflakes across the north Georgia mountains.

Quote

A cold front is forecast to move into the forecast area Saturday
night and exit the area on Sunday.
Plenty of moisture associated
and shower chances will be increasing Saturday night favoring
the N and W portions of the CWA then exit the area on Sunday with
shower chances favoring the E and S portions of the area
.
There is some instability associated so will continue with a slight
chance of thunderstorms for now. There is plenty of low level shear
but the surface based instability is lacking Saturday night but
a little better on Sunday and any strong/severe storm chances will
be monitored.

Overall rainfall amounts will favor far north GA and the mountains
ranging about 0.75 to 1.25 inches and about 0.25 to 0.75 for the
rest of the area.

There is small potential for a rain/snow mix from wrap around
moisture over portions of the far N counties Sunday night and
the first half of Monday. Significant accumulations of any kind
are not expected during this timeframe.

It will be possible for the top tier of counties to see a little snow falling. Not to fear though, the ground is too warm for anything other than a dusting on elevated surfaces. But hey! It's still snow! Here's a look at Blairsville. I think this area may have the best chances to see the white stuff.

NOT A FORECAST

I hope you aren't out shopping this morning... 😉 If so... good luck!

Hope everyone has a great Friday! Don't forget, meteorological Winter starts Sunday! ❄️🎅🤶🌡️

The weather seems to be trending in the direction of another warm December! The trough wants to be in the West and Central part of the country! Been that way for the last year! Underachieving rainfall with these cold fronts! Very La Niña like! Ghost of December 2015??? Hopefully a different outcome January and February! Hopeful but very skeptical! The trend is your friend! NOT!!!!!

No correlation between the setup this year and last.

I am hoping you are right! We need that Tour De Warmth of The MJO to speed right along! Lol! JB on WB has been pretty adamant about a warm December though and that worries me! He has had 2-3 bad forecasting years, but he has been spot on so far this fall with his prediction of Endless Summer and then Cold November!
