Happy Day! 🙂

This will be like yesterday... a running timeline of the event. Here's the current radar (5:57 AM) and Warning/Advisory map.

SHORT TERM /Today through Sunday/...

The main concern today is a quick developing and moving short
wave, forecast to moving across the area with a rather cold airmass
in place. This has prompted the issuance of a winter storm warning
for our NE counties from Murray to Cherokee east to Hall, White and
Towns. There is potential for 2 to 4 inches of snow, somewhat favoring
the higher elevations. The previous winter weather advisory will be
continued around the warning area. While these areas could have a
rain/snow mix, the warning area will likely be mostly snow.
The counties on the southern border of the advisory area are a very
close call as to whether snow will predominate for a long enough
period. So for now, this portion of the advisory was left alone.

Do you think the temps will get as high as they are saying...40ish in the north Georgia area.   I don't think I have one app or forecast that is the  same.  Ranges are Less than an inch to 1-2 inches of snow and rain. Doesn't seem that big of an event because no one is still talking about it.

It's crazy to go from 2 weeks ago that a good snow might land this weekend to no event to wake up this morning a winter  storm warning.

Winter in Georgia. Some of our best snows started out warm.

Snow is beginning here in Hiawassee with temp at 25. Hoping for a good 2-3 inches, but my expectations may be a little too high.

We’re already back up to 30 here in Athens. Probably just gonna be another cold rain by the time moisture actually gets here. Sigh...

Seems like it is drying up before it falls.  Says on the map and in my app snow showers and not a flake still.  Although there is a blueish tint outside

Really going to need the precip to come down good in Gwinnett to get some dynamic cooling with temps already nearing 32.

Frustrated is an understatement, watching the snow fall on my camera from across the country. Hopefully there will be some left by the time I get home tonight. I can already see it coating the roofs. This is Lumpkin County, in the valley by Chestatee Ford
