Good morning!

If you like warm fall days, today will be one of those! Today will be the last one for a few days as a fall cold front pushes through tomorrow and brings at least a couple of days of cool dry weather.  On the big map this morning (300 mb isobars/temps/850 mb winds) you can see the big trough over the central part of the US and the colder temperatures that are traveling with it. It's early in the season so the incoming temperatures will moderate before arriving here. But each time we get a cold front we take another step down as our temperatures trend down toward winter.

Friday night still looks to be the chilliest night for the next little while with temps dipping down into the mid to upper 30's in the mountains and 40's to 50's from north to central GA. Most all guidance has temps in the mid 30s at the lowest in the mountains for a brief time just before sunrise, so still will hold off on any frost/freeze products in the long term. Saturday still looks to be a beautiful fall day before some temperature moderation and shallow moisture return happen through the beginning of next week as surface high pressure shifts off the east coast. Models are coming into a little better agreement as to the next cold front next week, and it looks like the main wave and surface low will stay a little too far north to drive the front into our area. This means the forecast is mostly dry for the next seven days. However, there is an inverted surface based trough in the Atlantic which may push in to the area by the end of the week next week which could bring an increased chance of rain, especially across central GA.

Highs today and Friday look like this. ndfd-conus-atlanta-t2m_f_max_last24-2752400.thumb.png.accff37a1f234fe3e7ddc908ef40639b.png

We will warm back up some for next week and as the discussion mentioned, we will stay dry. Not much to talk about at the moment except to tell you that you'll have a week of nice fall weather coming up! Gotta head down to Atlanta so cutting it short today, hope you have a great Thursday!
