Currently 28 in Sky Valley with snow flurries coming down. We have definitely had a flash freeze, from walking outside a few minutes ago there are some icy spots and snow is starting to stick on top of it. Big league temperature drop since midnight!

I have been saving the ensembles that have all the different areas around to compare. When you get a change can you post the areas that you did the last time.  Thanks

Every major storm Georgia’s had that I remember it was 60’s or 70’s the day before....example snowmageddon.  Just the nature of ga weather in my non weather knowledgeable opinion🙂

I have lived here all my life and from my memory we do tend to have a warm up prior to snow storms....

Out of the top 20 Atlanta snows, 5 days in advance, 8 had high temperatures 50 or above, and 4 of those were in the 60's and the last one was 70º. That one happened to be the 1993 Storm of The Century.

BUT WAIT.....

Out of the top 20 Atlanta snows, 8 of those had highs the DAY BEFORE the snow of 50 degrees or above, with four of those in the 60's.

So the temps leading up aren't as critical as you may think.

Thanks for the information. I should remember it warms before, since I've lived here my whole life. I'm just wishing really hard for snow, so any possible obstacle is a pain! 😉

Snow showers here in Hiawassee. It is even beginning to turn roofs and the ground white in places.
