I’m new, so hi everyone 😁 I noticed the circled area put out by the NWS to watch for heavier snow bands. I’m about dead center in the circle, in Douglas county. Thankfully school is already canceled, but I believe they learned their lesson after 2014 and 2017.

Welcome. At this point it’s a wait and see. If your county has canceled school, it’s for good reason.

I mean it’s a nowcasting situation but the NAM was better for that scenario. I think if midtown got a couple inches the world would end and we would have snowmeggadon 2.0

Yes the latest NAM looks great for us in the city!

They were supposed to be. This is how frontal snow is. It’s an all out race between cold and moisture. I’d be lying if I told you I know how things are gonna play out.

Not knowing is the best part.

Okay. Newer HRRR and NAM again play a favorable chance. My wife went to sleep without me lol can't stop flipping between forum, close range models, and RadarScope. Ugh. I sure hope I have a snow day tomorrow because I'm sure I'll stay up too late.

The problem is meteorologist are damned if they do and damned if they don't. You can't shut down school systems and governments at the blink of an eye.

I'd bet the person complaining would be first in line to exorciate people if they didn't warn people and the first drop of frozen precipitation fell.
