Good morning!

Did you enjoy yesterday's weather? If so, you're gonna love today and tomorrow as well! We'll be sunny and mid 80's today and mostly cloudy with mid 80's tomorrow before the rain chances move back into the picture.

Right now, the best chances for some showers are Friday/Saturday (http://www.daculaweather.com/4_afd_all.php)

LONG TERM - Wednesday Night through Monday

By the middle of the week the center of the upper ridge has moved
to the Atlantic coast. This will give GA a return of moisture from
both the Gulf and the Atlantic with a couple of short waves
expected to gradually pass across the area. This pattern will be
unsettled...however best pops still on track for the Friday/Saturday
time frame as one wave crosses the TN Valley. Models indicate
some drying behind this system for late weekend/early next week as
the upper ridge temporarily builds back into the southeast. For
now...have removed pops for Sunday night and Monday area wide.

Meh.... I need some real rain, not spittle. 😒 Here's the next 7 day rainfall forecast from the Weather Prediction Center, and as you can see, the southeast is is not invited to the rain party. Those folks down to our south are in an area of increasing drought conditions right now, so they definitely could use some rainfall.

But right now, the seasonal drought forecast doesn't show anything terrible coming up. (http://www.daculaweather.com/4_drought_state.php)

I have a new page (yes... I'm always making new pages! 🙂 ) that displays some images related to fire conditions and fuel moisture. Some of the data for today doesn't update until around 8 am. (http://www.daculaweather.com/4_fire_danger.phpTo supplement that, the soil moisture page has additional information. (http://www.daculaweather.com/4_soil_moisture_us.php)

While there won't be any record highs or lows set across the south today, there are a couple of record low MAX temps that may be set.

Highs today will be warm... and they are running about 10-13 degrees above normal for this time of the year. (http://www.daculaweather.com/4_atl_today_climo.php)

So not much going on right now. There is a system that will effect the central part of the country, and that same system will be the one to bring us some showers, but it looses it's punch before it gets to us.

And not that we will need it today, but a FYI...

They left out the GSP (NWS Greenville-Spartanburg) radar.

So that's pretty much it.  Let's hope we see more rain than what is currently in the forecast, we're going to have to stock up for summertime! 🙂

Enjoy the day! 🙂

Hopefully this is only a short term pattern and doesn't last all the way into next fall/winter. Looks exactly like how the last drought setup, every weather system would just dry up on approach.

I certainly hope not. I hate summers with mid 90's and no rain.
