Ok... going out on a limb by creating this post, but I believe there is enough model justification to warrant it.  No guarantees! 😜 The models are all beginning to show threats for this time peri

Ok, I've been playing today. So for your viewing pleasure, we're going old school. Here's your "Local on the 8's" the way the Weather Channel USE to do it in the early 90's, and this is real live data

Ok folks... here are my thoughts about what is going on right now.  With such an active pattern, the models are totally worthless and of no help at all past 5 days, not even the ensembles. We're

Currently 28 in Sky Valley with snow flurries coming down. We have definitely had a flash freeze, from walking outside a few minutes ago there are some icy spots and snow is starting to stick on top of it. Big league temperature drop since midnight!

The warm up coming this week, is really bothering me!

Every major storm Georgia’s had that I remember it was 60’s or 70’s the day before....example snowmageddon.  Just the nature of ga weather in my non weather knowledgeable opinion🙂

Out of the top 20 Atlanta snows, 5 days in advance, 8 had high temperatures 50 or above, and 4 of those were in the 60's and the last one was 70º. That one happened to be the 1993 Storm of The Century.

BUT WAIT.....

Out of the top 20 Atlanta snows, 8 of those had highs the DAY BEFORE the snow of 50 degrees or above, with four of those in the 60's.

So the temps leading up aren't as critical as you may think.

Thanks for the information. I should remember it warms before, since I've lived here my whole life. I'm just wishing really hard for snow, so any possible obstacle is a pain! 😉
