A few tornadoes likely with a couple intense tornadoes possible Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph likely SUMMARY...A fast-moving line of thunderstorms over western North Carolina will track eastward this afternoon, posing a risk of damaging wind gusts and a few brief tornadoes. This line is expected to build northward with time into central and southeast Virginia. The tornado watch area is approximately along and 60 statute miles east and west of a line from 50 miles northwest of South Hill VA to 45 miles west southwest of Wilmington NC.
